Kitty Cats and Vintage wonders

 On Sunday myself and my little family took a lovely trip to one of my favorite events of the year, The polka dot vintage markets. It only happens 3 times a year but with over 300 stalls that's okay. I spent a good 3 hours just wondering around exploring all the vintage wonders every one was selling. I found a whole heap of amazing things but most out of my budget, I just love to look. Of course I had to get dressed up, well I call it dressed up. I do dress up almost every day so its nothing out of the ordinary. I did pop on one of the latest items to hang its self in my wardrobe thanks to my wonderful boyfriend. The markets are held in a building in the show grounds in Perth, basically a place where a lot of events happen. I was planning on taking pictures of my outfit before I left but then I remembered one of the buildings there that I just had to get pictures in front of. I set up my tripod and took a billion pictures as everyone driving past thought I was crazy.

The building covered in black cat cut outs is by far the most perfect place to snap a few pictures. This little guy I decided to name Stanley. I'm not sure why, it just happened.

The Hell Bunny Constance dress has been high on my wish list for a very long time now but sadly it has become the most hardest dress to find online. Luckily for me I found a small shop within Australia selling them in the plus sizes only. I could have sized down but wanted the dress so bad that I got the 2XL. It is a perfect fit but I am looking at losing weight and wearing my corset a lot more.

The print on this dress is perfection. I have been obsessing over the Toile look ever since I saw Miss Amy May post about it. I have seen it on a range of dresses both new and old but all way out of my budget so I was glad that I found the Hell Bunny Constance dress. The little detailed pictures all over the dress are of a few different things from fruit to skulls, I keep finding new things to look at each time I look down.

I never actually looked at the neckline on the dress before I purchased it (I just loved the print that much) but I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on for the first time. The neckline and sleeves where perfect and very unique. There is a a lot of wonderful shapes happening that draw attention but in the right way. The sleeves kind of have this double layer thing happening which is beautiful, you may be able to spot it in a few of the images. 

The over all fit of the dress is wonderful. The material is not to heavy but has great stretch for that extra comfort and hugs the curves in all the right way. I absolutely love this dress and think it is beautiful, I also think its safe to say that little Stanley feels the same way.

Of course I have to share with you what I got from the markets. There was so much I did fall in love with but most was way out of my budget. I am happy with my 3 little purchases for $28.

I finally got my hands on a retro looking wooden pineapple bowl! I am still unsure what I will use it for but I just love it. How cute are the 3 little kitties? They look so cute sat on my dressing table right now, especially next to the large shell bowel I got. It was my favorite find of the day and for only $10, the perfect place to put all my brooches (except Erstwilder) and still be able to see them.

I have so much planed right now, from blog posts to a small business adventure so don't run away to far until next time.

Little ray of sunshine

I was feeling so summery and bright today in a dress that has been sat in the back of my wardrobe for a little while now. I'm not sure why I haven't worn it, last year I practically wore it everywhere. You may have already seen me it but today I am focusing more on the amazing accessories in my outfit.

I just feel like the biggest ray of sunshine in this dress!

It's the Hell Bunny Sunrise dress and you can check out one of my older posts where I review its amazingness here. I got mine from Off Ya Tree but there is still so many places that stock it, just search for "Hell Bunny Sunrise dress" in Google and something is bound to come up.

This outfit was more about  showcasing the fabulous accessories that came in to my possession this week. One of which I won in a contest and the other I fell in love with and had to have.

I think all three of these items are a match made in heaven!

Lets talk about the sunflower hair clip first off. Its from a designer I have admired for ages but never got around to buying anything from until now. I just could not turn down the sunflowers. It goes so perfectly with this dress and I am just obsessed with yellow right now. The adorable little berries are just the icing on the cake! I have a few other outfits in mind where this will defiantly make an appearance. Plus, every time I look it it brings a smile to my face. Its just so bright and cheery! Perfect for these wonderful summer months.

The hair piece is from the wonderful Gigis Retro closet. All of her pieces are one of a kind and each as fabulous as the other! The quality is outstanding as well. Made with good quality flowers and put together with such love and care.

The other part of this outfit is the wonderful pineapple brooch. I won this in a contest with Pin Up Persuasion for their 3rd anniversary. It was such a fabulous prize as I have been after one for quite some time now.

This brooch is from the one and only Luxulite. A company who make amazing 1940s/1950s style jewelry that I am obsessed with. I was allowed to choose any piece from her current range but was a bit disappointed that the pineapple piece had sold before hand. To my luck she has some pineapples left over and was able to create this beauty for me. I finally own a Luxulite brooch! I feel such an obsession coming on. I get a bit excited about brooches and end up buying so many, I have a jewelry box full and slightly over flowing. That's not includinng my Erstwilder collection, they still live in their boxes on a shelf.. I am going to end up wearing this every where possible because it just brings me straight joy with the bright colours and cute little pineapples. My little Bubba. Penelope was looking extra cute today so she had to get in on some pictures! I get far better pictures of us together with my iPhone because she stares at my pineapple phone case. She's not so sure about the iPad :D

Its February already!? This year is already just flying past, its a little scary. I have decided to write up a bit of a summery of my favorite outfits from January. I wore quite a few but was far to busy with Penelope and my partner being off work to even get a chance to sit down by myself and write something. Poppy England Grace Cats dress review

I love finding companies who make amazing and very unique clothing. You know the ones with quirky eye catching patterns on a gorgeous shaped dress. Well a few weeks ago I found one! I may have mentioned them maybe once or twice here on my blog (or a lot!) but Poppy England is simply too wonderful not to keep sharing with you all. Oh and they gave me a 15% off code that you have to use!

Poppy England is a small business that was founded in 1980 by Stephanie and Michael Richardson. Back then they mainly focused on decor and bedding but soon moved onto children's clothing. In 2006 a lovely lady named Bryony (the daughter of Stephanie and Michael) took over the company and started the storybook adventures of Poppy and Fred. Bryony was always inspired by children's books and wanted to create a product that would mean more to the wearer than being "just another piece of clothing". With every piece of clothing comes a little story book that shares the adventures of Poppy and Fred with beautiful illustrations that tie in with the clothing. Each dress is truly a special piece of clothing that is made to last. In 2010, Poppy launched it's women's wear by popular demand with the traditional Poppy England border prints that actually match the children's clothing in some cases.

I have featured two of the Poppy England Grace dresses in my latest style boards (you can see those here and here) but they decided to send me one of those so I can review it all for you! You of course have seen the amazing Grace cat dress I keep sharing everywhere, a lot of you seem to really love it (like I do!). It has to be one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe, not only for its cute black cat pattern but for the amazing quality. 

This dress does have the power to make me smile like a crazy person by the way. 

First thing I would love to point out about this dress is its amazingly full skirt. I was a little worried about the skirt not being able to be worn with a petticoat but I was so wrong. Of course it can be worn without and still hold an amazing shape but you know me, petticoat obsessed. I was wearing my short black Hell Bunny petticoat under this, I found the length to be just right. Not too short or too long.

You can find the black petticoat here but I have to say if you are going to order from Poppy England, they do have a great range of super soft petticoats that match each dress perfectly. Check them out for yourself here.

I didn't manage to get the best pictures of this annoyingly but it has to be my favorite feature of the Grace style dress. If you look closely you can see the neck shape has changed. This dress is designed to be worn two ways, one with a shallow V (perfect for showcasing necklaces) and the other is a more gentle round shape. This whole feature can completely change the way the dress looks and opens up more possibilities in how to wear it.

I really enjoy the whole look of wearing pearls and this is such an elegant style dress (with an edge), I thought they went so well and in my eyes completed the look.

I am still yet to read the lovely little book my dress came with, its actually sat right next to me. I did have a flick through and I just love all the illustrations! Its such a fantastic idea and it defiantly will keep me coming back to Poppy England, I just have to keep up with Poppy and Fred's adventures!

There is much more I have to tell you about this dress! 

Firstly, I love how easily it can be accessorized. You can completely stick with wearing black and white or you can just go ahead and throw some crazy colours in there. I'm thinking I may wear this with some red next time, and I will share the results with you all. I would also like to point out that this would be a great dress to wear for Halloween this year (or next). I would totally be some form of classy black cat obsessed witch! 

Secondly I have to tell you about the quality. Made from 100% very soft cotton and lined from top to bottom. I have noticed also how well this dress was put together. The type of dress that is built to last for many many years and be worn rain or shine. 

Thirdly, Pockets! There are two very roomy pockets on each side of this dress! I love when a dress has useful pockets, makes life just that little bit easier.
Lastly we just have to talk about them cats! I don't think I have seen such a perfect cat printed dress in my life. I have always wanted a dress covered in cats but half the ones I see have been a little childish or far to short. I am not to sure if there is such a thing as a grown up cat printed dress, but if there was this would be it. The pattern is so eye catching and I have gotten a whole heap of compliments in shopping centers while wearing this and its not hard to understand why. This is perfect dress for any crazy cat lady out there.
