I have a wonderfully expensive sewing machine thanks to my boyfriend but I hardly use it. One reason being that we live with his parents and heaps of my stuff is still stacked in boxes. The other is that I don't really know how to sew. I'm trying to teach myself but it's difficult when I don't have access to the space to do so. When we move out I do hope to have a space to do my sewing in.
Any ways, I did get it out briefly yesterday to make myself chiffon head scarves! I have one head chiffon head scarf I bought in a second hand shop ages ago and have never been able to find another. I also did not feel like paying the $15 + that some company's ask for when its just a small square material.
So off to spotlight I went!
Thankfully that day, all plain chiffon was 1/2 price so that meant I walked out with 5 colours!
I did a test run of one of the scarves and the technique I had chosen was difficult but once I got the hang of it I was flying through the colours.
They are in no way perfect and have tiny imperfections, but hey its just a piece of material that's going in my hair. Normally folded so you hardly see the edges anyways!
I quickly did my hair up yesterday to show you all how they look. This resulted it some very similar faces and not so great hair but oh well!
You get the picture
:)
I've been thinking of doing this, love the colours! a year ago I couldn't sew but I took a beginners class and just from that and practice I can now make my own stuff! I loved seeing the skirts you used to make :)
