Shirt dresses are by far my favorite style of dress. They are always so sweet and girly looking from top to bottom, I need to own a lot more. These two Caterina dresses in different colours come from the wonderful Collectif. I noticed the navy a little while back and fell in love with the whole shape, it holds the perfect collar and simple little sleeves for day to day wear. I was just about to pop it in today's post and bam I am greeted with the light blue version on the website. My mouth fell open! I need this dress so bad, I will most likely order a few things from the website next week as I don't think I can live with out it, well that is if they re-stock my size by then. It seems really popular. I think I have a dress problem.

Flamingo Flats

Or maybe a flamingo problem! These cute shoes from T.U.K where brought to my attention this week by a fellow Instagramer. I love how you all tag me flamingo relate stuff across the internet. I must be known as the crazy flamingo lady. These are another must have in my wardrobe, so simple and so cute. 

Beat It Creep brooch

I am guessing a lot of you have seen the movie Cry Baby (1990) by now, if you haven't then I suggest you should. The lovely For the Love of vintage who I have mentioned in the past, has just brought out a whole heap of these candy hearts with various sayings on. This one has to be my favorite because of its reference to the movie and also how I don't like interacting to people in supermarkets so much. My other favorites include "You go Glen Coco" "Pin Up" "Dollbaby" & "Worst.brooch.ever". There are some great ones in the list, just have a look for yourself.

Palm trees and parasols - Emmy Design review

Have you ever found the most perfect dress and never wanted to take it off? It happened to me this week when I received a lovely gift from the Swedish brand, Emmy Designs. I have admired them ever since I saw June from Junebugs and Georgia Peaches wearing one of their fabulous designs a while back. and ever since have not got them out of my mind. 

They recently brought out their summer range for 2015 and its beautiful. I did pick out an older design originally to show you all but they suggested a dress from the new range and I'm so glad they did. Its the perfect summer dress and I wish summer wasn't coming to an end in Australia so I could just keep wearing it forever more. I got sent the lovely Malibu beach dress in vacation mint blue, I'll stop rambling now and actually show you its beauty.

How cute is it!? I actually wore it Oz Comic Con after I snapped these images and got a flood of compliments on it. Everything about it is so perfect so I can see why it got a lot of attention. I really wanted to take pictures by the sea which I live 3 streets away from but the weather thought otherwise. I did manage to get a quick break in the rain for 10 minutes to set up my tripod and be silly in the park, thankfully no one was around. The rain may have gone away but the wind didn't so my hair goes a bit crazy at times so I apologize in advance for the birds nest upon my head.

You have no idea how excited I got when I realized I had purchased the most perfect matching vintage brooch last year. My partner must have thought I was crazy as I ran to get it from the bottom of my brooch box just to show him it paired with the dress. I think I purchased the brooch for under $3 in a secondhand shop and all most died when I found it. Its so cute! Wish I knew a little bit more about it. I did find the exact one but in white in Google images but sadly the Ebay listing has gone away for me to find out anything a bout it. I'd love to know a little something on it.

I love the fact that Emmy Designs cater for the larger woman and pretty much all of there items goes up to some large sizes. I'm wearing a 46 but I am not sure what that translates to in Australian sizes so I went by the measurements on each item to get the perfect fit. I probably could have gone with going down a size due to the stretchy material but that is fine, makes it extra comfy! The material used is a cotton and spandex blend and feels amazing. Its got a slight stiffness to it which creates such a great full skirt look on top of a petticoat.

There is so many features on this dress that its hard not to love it. The straps tie up into little bows (or any knot you wish) which also is great if straps are sometimes to loose or to big on you, they can be tied to any tightness you want. Just another reason as to why its so comfortable! You may also notice that there is no horrid underarm digging in because of the aid of the straps.

Another amazing feature in the dress is "hidden pockets in the side seams to hold cash for ice cream" as said in the cute description on the Emmy website. I found I could fit a quite chunky camera in them without being able to notice it from the outside. Its just great design thinking. Emmy sure do stick by the statement first said on their home page, "Emmy is a Swedish brand who stands for feminine, well-fitted garments that embrace and enhance the female shape - just like in the good old days!". That saying could not be more true about this dress. You will also find a nicely hidden zipper down the back so you can easily get in and out without messing up your hair.

The print is everything on this dress. Every colour and shape works so well together I am a little bit surprised that this dress is actually hanging in my wardrobe. Its the perfect dress to wear that little itsy bitsy bikini under and walk down to the beach, picnic basket in hand and lounge around all day while people passing by admire you.

My hair got a little wrecked towards the end of taking these but oh well, the dress takes the attention away from it. I really do need to add a lot more Emmy designs to my wardrobe, there is a lot I love and would wear almost every day, Id love to own the Malibu in all the prints, it really is such a perfect dress from top to bottom. Expect to see a whole lot more of it on Instagram as you will not get me out of it. I think next time you see me in it,  I will probably style it more for a colder day, Just because the suns gone doesn't mean the pretty dresses have to go away.

Things I Love #24 - Pinup Girl clothing wishlist

Its been over 2 weeks since my last blog post, I am sorry guys! I do love you all still, I just got a tad busy with family things. I have so much happening in the next week or so including getting my first corset! I can't wait to start wearing it and showing you all my progress along the way. I have wanted one for ages so I finally took the plunge and ordered one from Orchard Corsets.

Enough rambling now, time to move on to this weeks Things I Love post. I decided to devote this post to all the wonders of Pinup Girl clothing. I am a huge fan and have a wishlist as long as my arm but for today I will only share a few of my favorites to celebrate the start of the Mary Blair release :)

I am not overly crazy about the Mary Blair collection as a whole but these 3 defiantly stood out to me for their cute and quirky patterns. I am absolutely head over heels in love with the Ella dress in Lips and roses print, its just beautiful from top to bottom. The image just does not show you the perfection that is the print so you will HAVE to click through to take a better look. I am loving the pink colour used in the Jenny Skirt in Umbrella print, its so cute! The pattern of little umbrellas is one of the sweetest designs I have seen to date. I know it wouldn't be very practical but I would love to go out in the rain wearing this and holding a cute matching pink umbrella and twirling around. Last in my top 3 Mary Blair items is the Aurora dress in Train border print. I was drawn to this one due to its bright yellow colour, I am still going through my yellow obsession phase. I have admired a vintage train border skirt in the past and just loved the whole idea of the train circling around the bottom like a children's toy. I was so undecided on whether I liked the skirt or the dress better in this print but I am swaying more to the dress because of the amount of yellow!

These two dresses have been on my wishlist for a little while now. I am still unsure if I want the Orange border print in the Jenny dress or skirt but either way, I have to have it. I have the similar styled Cherry Border Jenny skirt and it is one of my favorites due the way the print flows around the bottom and up. I don't think the Nancy dress in Blue Lemonade dress has been around for that long, I don't remember its release. The cute little flower details look amazing on the wonderfully blue background. This has to be the cutest summer dress out there and it also comes in pink!

6. Evelyn Dress in yellow and black vintage floral print

The Evelyn in yellow and black vintage floral has been on top of my wishlist for a very long time, just been waiting for a good reason to finally order it. Now I think about it, I don't really need a good reason to order it, I should just order it before its too late like the Harlequin skirt I missed out on and found on Ebay! I have the Birdie dress in the same print but blue and its just beautiful. The detail in the flowers is just amazing and one that has to be had in every colour and style possible! I am a big fan of how this dress comes with the matching bordello, sometimes you want to match when you want to cover up and sometimes you don't. I am glad that option is there. I also am loving the cute little bow detail under the chest, it makes it that little more wonderful!

I could go on with the amount I want from the Pinup Girl clothing website that one day I hope to own! Until then I will slowly keep adding to my wishlist :)

Voodoo Vixen Felicity dress in Plus size review

Voodoo Vixen have done it again and made another fabulous dress but this time with a tropical theme! It goes perfectly with my small but growing collection of tropical patterns in my wardrobe but this one is a lot bolder and fun. Tropical patterns have been my go to pattern this Australian summer and I will continue to wear them in to the winter. I had seen this dress in the smaller sizes not so long ago and fell in love with the little hula girls all over the dress. They give it great character among the bright tropical flowers. Recently Voodoo Vixen added it to their still new plus size collection and I had to just snap it up and show you all. The Felicity also holds a wonder of great features and fits like a glove.

When I looked at the dress listing before I choose to receive this dress, I never actually noticed the little wooden rings on the straps. It was a pleasant surprise when I opened up the package and slipped it on. They make such a great addition and really set the dress aside from other tropical dresses out there. It adds so much character with something so small. 

I also want to point out the little faux collar on the bust. It works really great on the Felicity as it breaks up the bold pattern a little and draws your eyes to the bust area ;) The black piping around the bottom edge helps it do this in a very good way. 

I don't think I could be any more in love with the fit of this dress. I ordered the 1XL from the plus size range and it fits perfectly still with extra room to breath and move. It is made from a heaver material but that being said, it still is a very light and airy dress. Perfect for hot summer days. The material has a great amount of stretch to it and hugs you in all the right places wonderfully. There is no unnecessary digging in around the under arms or waist due to the shape of the dress.

There's also two stretch panels around the side of the dress to give it that bit of extra room but also helps it to remain comfortable and breathable. I love how Voodoo Vixen decided to put these at the sides and not completely across the back. I am not the biggest fan of how these stretchy panels look but when done this way I don't mind it. There is also a centered zip to help you get in and out easily.

I just have to point out that I am in love with this picture! I don't think I have ever taken a more amazing picture from the back than this. I tend to normally hate how I look from the back. Goes to show that this dress does wonders for your curves!

Earlier this week I was sent a lovely little care package from the wonderful Closet Confessions boutique and in that package was this wonderful red belt made for plus size woman. It goes perfectly with so much in my wardrobe and also really does wonders for the Felicity dress. The belt is super comfortable and stretchy and comes in a range of colours.

With and without petticoat

 I love showing you guys how an outfit looks when styled different ways. The Felicity looks amazing styled with and without a petticoat. This is defiantly one of those few dresses in my wardrobe that I would wear without a petticoat due to how it still has great shape in the full skirt.

There is also two deep pockets, one on either side of the skirt. They hold your phone and lipstick perfectly well and keeps them hidden if you don't want to be carrying a handbag.

Voodoo Vixen have outdone themselves again! This dress is perfect for all you curvy ladies out there due to how comfortable and amazing it is is!

Creep Heart by Ella Mobbs

I received a wonderful package from Creep Heart last week and I must say that everything is perfection! I have admired Creep Heart for some time now and admire every design the wonderful Ella Mobbs designs but was yet to add some to my own collection. I was over the moon when I was asked if I would like to be sent a few of the latest goodies to show all of you! The latest range is amazing and I just need to grab more! 

I got sent a selection of goodies as you can see. 3 brooches, a necklace, stickers and a couple of cute postcards. I love how I have become known for my flamingo obsession, I really don't know where it comes from but thank you for noticing Creep Heart :)

The packaging is so cute on every item, the two outer brooches are presented on cut out coffins. Once again I have kept the packaging just to look at. I love companies that take the time to not only make great items but present them well, it really wins me over. The postcards are a great touch to and I can't wait to put them in frames and sit them on my book shelf.

How amazing is the Creep Heart Valentine brooch!? I think its a personal favorite of my just started collection. Its all beautifully drawn and printed on acrylic just like all of the items I received. I love the use of the clear window with small details, its really sets the brooch apart from any other out there.

I have already found myself wearing the Eye Heart you necklace almost every where I go. Its so simple and cute and once again perfectly made. It goes with so much in my wardrobe and sits in the most perfect place to make eye contact with everyone that passes by. This pendant also comes in a brooch version which also would make a great addition to any outfit. Have a look at the product on the Creep Heart website because that black laser cut frame has so much detail that I forgot to really capture to show you. Its so well done and compliments the eye artwork perfectly.

Annoyingly I was wearing completely the wrong outfit to show off the Dying Mingo mini pin as it got a little lost in the pattern but either way its adorable! I do love a good flamingo and this one is printed on a creepy but cute acrylic coffin. I need more Creep Heart flamingos, they are the best!

It was so difficult to capture a picture that would show all the detail in the Night dreamer brooch but I think this one does it pretty well. Its made up of two layers, the top layer shows a lovely lady gazing off at the twinkling moon that is on the clear acrylic under layer. This is such a unique brooch and I just love it so much! There are a heap more that have the same concept (two layers, one clear) from Creep Heart and I just need more! I think I am now obsessed with this look. I don't think Ella Mobbs can really do no wrong when it comes to designing beautiful unique accessories. This one also comes in a necklace making it yet another stand out piece to any outfit.
